COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine COMIRNATY®

You have just been vaccinated with COMIRNATY®, an mRNA vaccine against COVID-19. This booklet will provide you with important information about the mechanism and safety of this vaccine.
 

The European Commission approved the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine COMIRNATY® from BioNTech on December 21, 2020 based on a prior recommendation for conditional approval by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The EMA is responsible for verifying the safety and effectiveness of drugs and vaccines. Since its approval, this vaccine has been an effective tool for fighting the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Europe.
 

Approval was granted particularly quickly because some of the clinical trials were conducted at the same time as each other and the data were submitted to the EMA in an accelerated process while the studies were still ongoing.
